STARTER-KIT v3 IS FINALIZED!

In the starter-kit v3, the sensor device is based on fully assembled PCB with embedded solar panel charging features. 2 boards are available to build the starter-kit v3. The first one is the evolution of the INTEL-IRRIS do-it-yourself PCB and is referred to as INTEL-IRRIS PCBv4.1. Keeping the simple approach where a separate Arduino Pro Mini microcontroller board needs to be plugged on the PCB, it is illustrated below.

The second board is the WaziSense v2 that is designed and produced by our partner WAZIUP. WaziSense v2 includes the microcontroller so there is no need to have a separate Arduino Pro Mini.

ORDER YOUR FULLY ASSEMBLED INTEL-IRRIS PCBv4.1!

The Gerber files for the INTEL-IRRIS PCBv4.1 are available on INTEL-IRRIS’s GitHub. Also, check out the INTEL-IRRIS tutorial in building the low-cost soil humidity sensor platform that has been specifically produced to show assembly instructions for this PCB. For those who do not know how to get PCB manufactured, this video has been produced to illustrate this complex process Video n°9. YouTube tutorial video showing how to order the fully assembled INTEL-IRRIS PCBA.

You can easily decide which components you want the manufacturer to place and assemble for you! For instance, you can order your PCBv4.1 without the LoRa radio module so that you can easily decide (and solder yourself) which LoRa radio you want to integrate: either a 868MHz (RFM95W) radio or a 433MHz (RFM96W) radio! You can also decide to not have the embedded solar circuit on the back of the PCB because you mainly want to use Alkaline batteries!

WHAT ABOUT AI?

INTEL-IRRIS is investigating how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be beneficial to increase further the efficiency of an fully autonomous sensor system for optimizing irrigation towards smallholders. There are 2 deliverables available that explains how AI are introduced and experimented with the INTEL-IRRIS starter-kit:

SMALLHOLDER PILOTING PROGRAM IS ACCELERATING!

The Smallholder Piloting Program accelerating in Algeria and Morocco with deployment of starter-kits in new farms and interviews with new smallholders to collect their feedbacks on the usage of the starter-kit: how easy is it to deploy, how clear is the User Interface, how robust is the packaging, …
